Civil Engineers - Junior & Mid-level

We are looking for motivated engineers to perform a wide variety of tasks, which may include Stormwater & Sanitary Design, Highway Design, Site Design, Traffic Engineering, and Coastal/Marine Engineering.  AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Microstation proficiency and a Bachelor’s Degree are minimum requirements.  

We have openings for the following positions:

  • Junior Engineers: 0-4 years experience

  • Project Engineers: 4-8 years experience, P.E. license and Project Management experience are desirable. 

Proficiency with any of the following is a plus:

  • Sanitary Sewer design

  • Traffic Engineering Software

  • Hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software

Resident Engineer

We are seeking to add an experienced Resident Engineer to our well-established construction inspection department.

  • Successful performance on Long Island and/or New York City bridge and highway construction projects for NYSDOT

  • Experience with NYCDOT or MTA Bridges and Tunnels Bridge Construction

  • Experienced in SiteManager®, Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK) and Change Order and project closeout procedures.

  • Candidate must be currently registered with the New York State Education Department as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) 

  • Experience with Construction Quality Control Oversight and Quality Assurance Oversight on Design-Build contracts and Locally Administered Federal Aid projects is a plus.

Office Engineer

We are seeking to add an experienced Office Engineer with successful performance on NYSDOT Region 10 and/or 11 bridge and highway construction projects to our well-established construction inspection department.  The candidate must be proficient in SiteManager®, Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK) and Change Order and project closeout procedures.

  • Candidate must be currently registered with NICET and have reached the level of NICET III or IV

  • Experience with Construction Quality Control Oversight and Quality Assurance Oversight on Design-Build contracts and Locally Administered Federal Aid projects is a plus

Highway Inspector/Bridge Inspectors 

Field experience including, but not limited to:

  • Minimum 2 years experience

  • NICET Level II, III or IV Certification

  •  Soil Testing and ACI Concrete experience a plus

  • Candidates must have experience with SiteManager®

  • NYSDOT Inspection experience

  • NYSDOT Office Engineer experience

Land Surveying Office Technician

LKMA is looking for an individual with working knowledge of the land surveying profession who may be searching for the office experience required for land surveying licensure. 

Some of the duties required by the land surveying technician are as follows:

  • AutoCAD Civil 3d and/or Microstation V8 Processing data from the field

  • Performing traverse adjustments

  • Producing CADD surveys, stakeout plans and general base mapping for design purposes

  • Creating DTMs

  • Conducting public record research. Compiling deeds and maps for boundary determination. 

1-2 years of experience and an associates degree at a minimum is required. 

Survey Instrument Operator/Technician

  • Field Surveying Experience, including but not limited to Rod Person and Instrument Operator

Experience with robotic total station and GPS is considered a plus.
