Senior Civil/Traffic/Transportation Engineers

LKMA is seeking multiple Senior Civil/Traffic/Transportation Engineer to work in either its Brookhaven, Long Island office or in its Hicksville office, which is located immediately adjacent to the Long Island Rail Road’s Hicksville station, 45 minutes by train east of Penn Station in midtown Manhattan.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and have 10 years minimum experience, including project management experience, as well as excellent verbal and written skills. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5-15 years of highway/drainage design experience

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D software

  • Experience in all aspects of Traffic Engineering/Transportation Planning

Proficiency with any of the following is a plus:

  • NY State Professional Engineer license

  • Proficiency with Microstation software

  • NYSDOT highway design

  • Coastal and marine design

  • Traffic Engineering Software

Civil Engineer

LKMA is seeking multiple Civil Engineers to work either in its Brookhaven Long Island office or in its Hicksville office, which is located immediately adjacent to the Long Island Rail Road's Hicksville station, 45 minutes by train east of Penn Station in midtown Manhattan.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and have 2 to 9 years of experience, proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D software and experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Highway/Drainage Design

  • Site Design

  • Coastal & Marine Design

  • Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeling

Proficiency with any of the following is a plus:

  • NY State Professional Engineer license

  • Proficiency with Microstation software

  • NYSDOT Highway Design experience

  • Traffic Engineering experience

Survey Instrument Operator/Technician

  • Field Surveying Experience, including but not limited to Rod Person and Instrument Operator

Experience with robotic total station and GPS is considered a plus.

 

Resident Engineer

We are seeking to add an experienced Resident Engineer to our well-established construction inspection department.

  • Successful performance on Long Island and/or New York City bridge and highway construction projects for NYSDOT

  • Experience with NYCDOT or MTA Bridges and Tunnels Bridge Construction

  • Experienced in SiteManager®, Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK) and Change Order and project closeout procedures

  • Candidate must be currently registered with the New York State Education Department as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) 

  • Experience with Construction Quality Control Oversight and Quality Assurance Oversight on Design-Build contracts and Locally Administered Federal Aid projects is a plus

Office Engineer

We are seeking to add an experienced Office Engineer with successful performance on NYSDOT Region 10 and/or 11 bridge and highway construction projects to our well-established construction inspection department.  The candidate must be proficient in SiteManager®, Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK) and Change Order and project closeout procedures.

  • Candidate must be currently registered with NICET and have reached the level of NICET III or IV

  • Experience with Construction Quality Control Oversight and Quality Assurance Oversight on Design-Build contracts and Locally Administered Federal Aid projects is a plus

Highway Inspector/Bridge Inspectors 

Field experience including, but not limited to:

  • Minimum 2 years experience

  • NICET Level II, III or IV Certification

  •  Soil Testing and ACI Concrete experience a plus

  • Candidates must have experience with SiteManager®

  • NYSDOT Inspection experience

  • NYSDOT Office Engineer experience
