Responsibilities:
• Preparation of contract drawings and construction documents using Revit MEP and
AutoCAD software in accordance with public agency standards and requirements.
• Development of commercial heating and cooling load calculations and energy analysis
using industry-standard energy modeling software to support system selection and code
compliance.
• Design, layout, and sizing of HVAC systems including central plant systems, air handling
systems, terminal units, and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems for public facilities.
• Design and sizing of hydronic systems including heating and chilled water distribution,
pumping systems, and associated controls.
• Design and layout of ductwork systems, including supply, return, and exhaust air systems,
with coordination of architectural and structural constraints.
• Design and sizing of plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary (DWV), and fuel
gas systems in compliance with applicable codes and public agency standards.
• Preparation of wet and dry fire sprinkler system layouts and hydraulic calculations in
coordination with fire protection requirements.
• Preparation of technical specifications to support construction and bidding documents.
• Field investigations, site surveys, and data collection to document existing conditions and
support renovation and infrastructure upgrade projects.
• Preparation of construction cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and support during public
bid and procurement processes.
Requirements:
• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• ±7-10 years of professional mechanical engineering design experience.
• PE license preferred, not required
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit MEP software.
• Working knowledge of energy modeling software such as Carrier’s HAP, Elite CHVAC,
Energy Pro, or DOE’s EnergyPlus is preferred.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic calculation software such as AutoSPRINK is a plus.
