Stony Brook University-Gyrodyne Property Acquisition
Stony Brook University
Boundary survey and mapping for acquisition of 246 acre site to be added to the Stony Brook University campus. Mapping included existing planimetric features and all mapping conformed to current NYSDOT right-of-way mapping requirements. Project also included monumentation of all courses and topographical survey, mapping and Digital Terrain Modeling (DTM) of the entire parcel. Two pairs of permanent control monuments were also set using static GPS survey technology.
Naval Weapons Industrial Reserve Plant GM-38 Area Bethpage, Town of Oyster Bay
Tetra Tech FW, Inc.
This project involved the determination of property lines and ownership for the entire GM-38 area. It also included the preparation of a full topographic survey including a Digital Terrain Model (DTM) for portions of the area. Utility information was requested from the various utility companies and indicated on the mapping. Two pairs of permanent control monumentation were set and a closed traverse generated for the entire area. Project also included the stake out of a number of extraction and monitoring wells for a ground water remediation project.


Farmingdale State College Construction Stake-out Services
Farmingdale State College
LKMA Surveyors provided the construction contractor with field stake-out surveys for the College’s solar farm and for the Student Union Building.
Client: Stony Brook University

LKMA services included setting horizontal and vertical control, topographic survey, property line determinations and the preparation of permanent easement maps in conformance with SCDPW Standards.

Project involved the reconstruction of CR 17, Wheeler Road, from CR 100/Suffolk Avenue to NY Route 111 in Central Islip. LKMA provided overall project management, survey and mapping, construction staging, drainage design, utility coordination, and highway design support services for this $2.5 Million project.

Phase 1 involved the performance of a Second Order Class II boundary survey and mapping of the entire airport property (approximately 1350 acres). GPS was used to confirm and establish metes, bounds, and the location of all existing monuments and any roads, taxiways, runways, buildings and other topographic features within 30 feet of each side of the survey and boundary line. Phase 2 involved the setting of monuments at selected property corners after the survey was reviewed and approved by SCDPW.
